STUDENT MINI CONFERENCE

  • Student Mini Conference Theme: Nurturing STEM Awareness in Nuclear Isotopes
    The 10ICI is the 10th International Conference on Isotopes hosted by Malaysian Radiation Protection Association (MARPA) and Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuclear Malaysia) at the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur. The internationally renowned conference offers an opportunity to connect and form collaborations with researchers, academics, practitioners and the educational technology industry. In conjunction with 10ICI, the organizing committee has setup the Student Mini Conference contains a mix of social events, oral and posters presentation, student creativity, invention and innovation competition. Enjoy a mini-conference experience in technologically enhanced classrooms, as well as traditional discussions and face-to-face events to initiate the collaboration of tomorrow.
  • Mini Conference Tracks
    We invite conceptual, applied and theoretical research contributions on the following tracks:

     

    • Oral Presentation
      The participation from master’s and PhD students are welcomed and encouraged to take part. Streams of Oral Presentation;

      • Food/Agriculture
    • Poster Presentation

    • Student Creativity, Invention and Innovation Competition
      This track looks at the idea of strengthening the spirit of researchers and innovation among students by demonstrating the results of research and innovations. Raising/nurturing the nation’s innovation culture by producing new research talents, to create space for new innovators, public visitors are freely to exchange opinions and views on innovation results. The participation from the bachelor’s degree students is welcomed and encouraged to take part. Streams of Student Creativity, Invention and Innovation Competition;

    Competition Rules & Regulations

    • The project must be in accordance with the theme of the competition.
    • The Idea of the project must be original and not plagiarism.
    • Supporting tools for presentation are allowed with any other materials.
    • Adaptation of improving existing products can be accepted if the improvement is totally new.
    • The idea of the project must be original and never commercialized, displayed or forwarded to the manufacturing sector.
  • Awards
    Students who have shown remarkable and outstanding presentation in his/her ideas of researches, creativity, invention and innovation will receive recognition as follows;

    • Best Poster Presentation Awards
    • Best Creativity, Invention and Innovation Awards

    • Oral Presentation
      Paper Formatting: For the main text of your submission, please use:

       

      • Times New Roman 10 pt. font, black
      • Single line spacing
      • APA 6th style for referencing

      File Types: Submissions can be made in Microsoft Word, RT or OpenOffice Document file format, but must preserve the table at the top of the submission template.
      Registration: Submitters agree that if their work if accepted, at least one author will register during the registration period and present the accepted work at 10ICI Student Mini-Conference.
      Oral Presentation: Submitters agree that if their work if accepted, at least one author will register during the registration period and present the accepted work at 10ICI Student Mini-Conference.
      • Invited: 25 min presentation + 5 min Q&A
      • Normal contribution: 15 min presentation + 5 min Q&A
      • Screen format: 4:3
    • Poster Presentation
      Maximum poster size 80 cm x 120 cm
    • Student Creativity, Invention and Innovation Competition
      Maximum poster size 80 cm x 120 cm.
      Each participant will be allocated with the back panel and one desk.
  • Full Paper Submission Options
    Full Papers (Maximum 6 pages): Feature significant theoretical reviews, research studies in areas of nuclear related technology. Full Paper submissions are a maximum of 6 pages, including references.

  • Submission Procedure
    All submissions must be made via https://10ici.org/. The deadline for all submissions is midnight on 30th September 2019 (Monday).

  • Fees
    RM50 is charged for each participation to cover tea breaks, lunch and miscellaneous items.

    Payment options:
    For students, please send a photo of your student ID or proof of university registration to julia@nuclearmalaysia.gov.my to qualify for the student fee.
